6th CONEXP: International Congress of Experimental Archaeology – First Announcement
We are glad to announce the 6th International Congress of Experimental Archaeology of the association EXPERIMENTA (EXARC member). It is organized in partnership with the UMR 7194 – HNHP and the UMR 7041 – ArScAn (ANTET team). The congress will be held for the first time out of Spain, in Pézenas (Hérault, France), between 20 and 22nd of October 2020.
The aim of the 6th CONEXP is to bring together researchers from diverse thematic backgrounds working on past societies, from Palaeolithic to historic periods (technologists, traceologists, zooarchaeologists, from environmental sciences etc.).
All works that use experiments serving archaeological issues are welcome. They have to fall within the congress thematic (reconstitution of past behaviours). For this edition, we wish to highlight works on taphonomy, with a particular session. As for previous congresses, a session will be dedicated to the actors of scientific mediation through experimental archaeology.
Several presentation types are possible:
– Oral communication;
– Poster;
– Live experiments, demo, and presentation of experimental repositories.
As for other congresses, communications will be published.
The deadline for abstracts is April 30th 2020. They have to be send to: [email protected]
Abstracts can be written in French, English and Spanish
